South Middle Robotics Team
or The SMRT Girls!!

Our mission:
To encourage middle school students, especially girls, to get involved with robotics.
By providing educational materials and videos related to building simple
electrical circuits, building simple robots, and programming them.

Hannah:
I joined robotics because I wanted to learn about building
and flying. Iv'e had a great year and loved it so much.
Robotics is a great place to have fun and a good place to learn.

Braylee:
I joined robotics because it looked fun and I loved robotics
I learned how to fly a drone. I learned how to build a robot,
and I had so much fun.

Charlotte:
I was unsure about joining robotics at first but then I finally
decided to join. It was so fun and even though I faced challenges
I could always solve then with the help of my team.

Owen:
I have had a great year in robotics. We flew drones and coded on
mblock. I hope to have more fun in robotics class in the future.

Andrew:
Robotics is how I made great friends and it made me smarter in robotics
and can do the same for you.

Being involved in robotics is a great way to understand technologies that impact the way we live, not only today but in the future. Robotics involves many fields of science and technology, such as physics, mechanics, optics, mathematics, and computer science to name a few. In addition, due to the wide range of subject areas involved in robotics, the ability to work in teams is critical. We hope this website will take some of the mystery out of robotics and encourage students, like us, to get involved - with the possibility of pursuing a career in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics commonly referred to as STEM. We hope the materials and links below prove useful for you. Please remember we are middle school students ourselves currently learning robotics and are hand coding our own website!!
